Love the size and simple design! Feels durable, and best of all—no tiny plastic pieces to clean out. Much more convenient than my old one.
Loved this feeder. I had serious problems with bees swarming my old tube-style feeder. After researching, I found that yellow attracts bees—this feeder has no yellow, and its dish-style design keeps nectar out of their reach. I even rubbed lemon juice on it as a repellent, and it worked.
Only one bee came by and left. The hummingbirds love it, though only one feeds at a time. Best feeder I’ve owned—sturdy, effective, and highly recommended!
This is by far the best hummingbird feeder I’ve ever used. I used to have major issues with bees swarming my old tube-style feeder—at times I couldn’t even see the feeder because of all the bees!
After doing some research, I learned that yellow attracts bees—and most feeders include yellow parts. This one doesn’t, and that makes a big difference. Plus, it’s a dish-style feeder, so the nectar sits low enough that bees can’t reach it.
As an extra step, I also rubbed a bit of lemon juice on the feeder, since citrus can help repel bees. Since switching to this setup, I’ve only seen one bee come by, take a quick look, and fly off.
The hummingbirds, on the other hand, love it—though I typically see one at a time rather than a crowd. Still, it’s a win. No bees, happy birds, and peace of mind. Highly recommended!
